Font Friday: Mocha Mattari

I just got this typeface from Flat-It called Mocha Mattari... I'm loving it! It's based on Bebas Neue, which I use a lot and absolutely adore! It's just a little more distressed and there are some alternates as well. Mocha Mattari can be purchased here.

Here is what MyFonts.com says about it:
Mocha Mattari is distressed font designed based on Bebas Neue released as a free font in 2010. The Original Bebas Neue has an inordinate level of popularity and it is often used as a web font in recent years. This Mocha Mattari was made by damaging the original and tweaked by hand work. Basically, Mocha Mattari does not have lowercases but alternative uppercases. Exceptionally “g, m, oz, fl, lb” for “gram, milli, ounce, fluid, pound” can be available by opentype dlig or salt features.

Font Friday: Lavanderia

You may remember that I previously featured Duke by James T. Edmondson a while back... well he's back with more awesomeness! Lavanderia is based on lettering found on laundromat windows in San Francisco's Mission District, it features numerous opentype features and three weights. And hello! it comes complete with punctuation, numerals, upper and lowercase... which is not always the case with certain "free" fonts. Lavanderia is available from the always amazing Lost Type Co-op so that means, you guessed it... FREE!

Font Friday : Liam

Love this super cute font by Laura Worthington. It's called Liam and it's available at myfonts.com. It has some great dingbats and alternates. Aside from the obvious baby related goods, I think this would be great for anything "holiday". It has just the right amount of sweetness without going over the top!

Make & Matter

I'm completely obsessed with the work of Austin based graphic design firm Make & Matter. Their work is outstanding... see for yourself!

Muppabet

I grew up watching The Muppets so I have a soft spot for anything Muppet including these awesome illustrations by artist David Vordtriede. He illustrated 26 characters corresponding to the alphabet... the letters are in the background, it took me a minute to figure that out! You can see the entire Muppabet right here

PS. The movie comes out in theaters today! Hopefully it doesn't suck...

Font Friday: Channel

Love this font by Mawns! It's called Channel and it's FREE (for personal use) at dafont.com... or you can purchase the font with license for just $59 from mawns.com. Pretty sweet because you actually get four fonts: Channel, Channel Left-Slanted, Channel Slanted 1, and Channel Slanted 2 (the samples above only show Channel regular). - Enjoy!

And please welcome the newest member of the crew... Cécile from My Paper Lounge! I met Cécile through Minted and I have to say in addition to being a great designer and all around nice person, she has excellent taste in fonts!

Monday Moments : It Gets Better

In memory of Mackenzie.

If you're having a crappy day just remember... that's just what it is, a crappy day and nothing more. Tomorrow will be better.

Font Friday: Feel Script

Some people may say it looks just like Monterey but they would be so so so wrong!
If you like swashes, this is the font for you!

images: MyFonts.com

I noticed the other day that Feel Script by Sudtipos is on sale (20% off until 11/15) and that got me thinking about how much I love this typeface! Then I realized that I have never done a Font Friday post on it... wtf?! Well, I'm here to rectify the situation. So have I mentioned that I love it? Okay, good. Now go get it!... available at MyFonts.com

Monday Moments : Invincible Summer

Love this print by Matthew Kavan Brooks and the quote is an old favorite by Albert Camus.
You can purchase this print on Society6.

Here is the entire quote:
My dear,
In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.
In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile.
In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.
I realized, through it all, that…
In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.
Truly yours,
Albert Camus

Font Friday: Mary Read

I guess I got a thing for these very calligraphic typefaces (see this post)... anyway, Mary Read by Melle Diete is no exception. There are plenty of alternates, swashes, and ornaments. Unfortunately, at $45 per weight, it's no bargain but right now it's 35% off until 10/23... I may just have to purchase this lovely! And you can get yours right here.
