UPDATE: "Be Awesome" art prints are now available in the Super Swoon Print Shoppe!
I recently met some fabulous new friends on Twitter who started a collective type round-up every Friday (just do a search for #FontFriday). Several of them have posted amazing free fonts in the past few weeks (see here, here, and here)... so I thought it would be nice to share a free font also. Free fonts tend to be in that you-get-what-you-pay-for category but every now and then you come across some real gems. Take for instance this one called Costura designed by Simon Wiesmayr. I'm a sucker for anything crafty so this cross-stitch font is right up my alley! It comes in three weights: bold, demi-bold, and light AND is licensed for personal or commercial use - for free.

Happy Monday, everyone! I am starting a new feature on Super Swoon called Monday Moments. Because on Monday, of all days, we tend to need a little more encouragement, a little bit of a boost. It will vary form week to week... it might be a quote, a photo, or a video. I just hope I can help start your week off in the right direction!
And for this first installment, I'm kicking things off with these lovely inspirational mini-bus rolls from LoveLife. I love this one especially! I mean how can you not feel good after reading this?
I am absolutely in LOVE with the work of artist and illustrator Christian Northeast! He work effortlessly combines beautiful illustration and whimsical typography. Much of his it has been done for magazines such as New York Times, Time, etc. I especially love the "Prayer Requested" series the most... so funny!

I am so completely smitten with this typeface!! The last time that happened it was this Tuesday Type. Don't get me wrong I like them all, but sometimes I get a little extra excited. Anyway, it's called Jeeves Complete by the Red Rooster Collection. It is simply stunning... I think I need make a purchase ASAP!
I'm very excited to share these lovely new Paper Dahlia wedding invitation designs with you! All are available in multiple colorways and can be customized. Exclusively at Minted.com.
I recently came across the most interesting book of photographs of criminals in Sydney, Australia in the 1920's. It's called City of Shadows: Sydney Police Photographs 1912-1948. I love photography like this... for the same reason I love Disfarmer so much... I'm imagining all sorts of stories about these people and how they ended up in jail. You can see more photos via here or purchase the book here.
I'm very excited to bring to this week's Tuesday Type as it is one of my favorite fonts in my collection... Memoriam Pro. Yes, you've probably heard of Memoriam since it debuted on the cover of The New York Times magazine in late 2008 (later available for sale in mid-2009). Unfortunately, while completely beautiful, it is somewhat illegible in smaller sizes (my one complaint). But now, by popular demand, Canada Type has come out with the Pro version, complete with three variants: outline, inline, and headline. Hurray for more choices!
Lately I've been just a bit obsessed with stripes. They are everywhere these days. Obviously moderation is key here... I would definitely wear a striped boatneck tee with a pair of skinny jeans or accessorize with a striped bag or scarf.
And just for fun, I couldn't resist posting this shot of James Dean. Forever beautiful!
