Font Friday: Merry

Technically this isn't a font, I suppose... it's actually a handset typeface. Don't judge... keep your hearts open. Ha ha! There is something so awesome about Merry it's got TONS of alternates so you really get that hand drawn look. Takes a little more work to get it to look just right but I love it! You can get it right here!

I recently came across the work of artist Michael Cutlip and was instantly enamored.  Each piece has many layers and his use of color really speaks to me. Would really love to own one, or two...

I'm Going To Make It Happen by Marco van Zomeren

Ira Glass on Storytelling from David Shiyang Liu.

One more item because I could help myself... I love this wonderful typography inspired video! I've read this quote from Ira Glass before but this is a really lovely way to present it, especially for us designers... have a look!

Font Friday: Populaire

I am really digging this hand-drawn font from Pintassilgo Prints! It's called Populaire and it's only $29! Big deal, right? Well did I mention that it has an impressive four glyphs per letter for a very unique hand-drawn look? It also has some pretty cool ornaments too! You can get it right here.

Font Friday: Selaive

This week's Font Friday lovely is called Selaive by Latino Type... it is such a graceful and beautiful typeface without being over the top. In the product description they call it a geometric font... technically it is, but the swashes are what's making my heart skip a beat! It also looks amazing when you use a combination of the standard letters and swashes, such as in the top image. And as my per usual, I am drawn more to the light font but both are gorgeous. The entire font family can be purchased for $59 right here.

Here's what YouWorkForThem says about Selaive:
Selaive is a geometric typeface that has an air of rebelliousness. The thick and thin versions give you the chance to play a coquettish and seductive game. Its flourishes make it a very dynamic typeface when composing a text, ideal for those who want to add a personal and glamorous touch to their compositions. Selaive is an excellent choice for fashion magazines, logotypes and shops.
