Font Friday: Feel Script

Some people may say it looks just like Monterey but they would be so so so wrong!
If you like swashes, this is the font for you!

I noticed the other day that Feel Script by Sudtipos is on sale (20% off until 11/15) and that got me thinking about how much I love this typeface! Then I realized that I have never done a Font Friday post on it... wtf?! Well, I'm here to rectify the situation. So have I mentioned that I love it? Okay, good. Now go get it!... available at MyFonts.com

Monday Moments : Invincible Summer

Love this print by Matthew Kavan Brooks and the quote is an old favorite by Albert Camus.
You can purchase this print on Society6.

Here is the entire quote:
My dear,
In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.
In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile.
In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.
I realized, through it all, that…
In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.
Truly yours,
Albert Camus

Font Friday: Mary Read

I guess I got a thing for these very calligraphic typefaces (see this post)... anyway, Mary Read by Melle Diete is no exception. There are plenty of alternates, swashes, and ornaments. Unfortunately, at $45 per weight, it's no bargain but right now it's 35% off until 10/23... I may just have to purchase this lovely! And you can get yours right here.

And Then Comes Baby!

I love this sweet song and immediately thought of it when we decided to do this online baby shower for our dear Font Friday friend Jen, of Blush Printables! I've been singing this song to my daughter every night since she was a little baby. Remembering what it was like to be a first time mom not too long ago, I tried to think of some advice for her. Funny thing is, aside from this song, the only other thing I could think of is the book "Go The F**k To Sleep"... that is my reality these days as I go into my daughter's room for the fourth time in twenty minutes! But seriously, the only advice I would give Jen is don't forget to take care of yourself... that means going out with friends, getting a mani/pedi, working out, or whatever! You can't properly take care of someone else unless you take care of yourself. Congrats, Jen!!

CLICK HERE for a full-size PDF download of the above image... would look super cute framed!! And in case you were wondering, I used an old favorite font Dear Sarah for the print...

Sooo, be sure to check out all the other posts in our "And Then Comes Baby" baby shower blog crawl... there's going to be lots of sage advice (we hope), quotes, and printables.

Here's the line up:

And please be sure to visit Jen's Blush Printables and bookmark it for future stationery needs (mama's gotta pay for those diapers!).

Child's Play: Jolby

images: Jolby & Friends

I'm totally obsessed with the amazing work of Jolby & Friends! In particular this new book titled "The King's 6th Finger" by Jolby and Rachel Roellke is a visual delight (sounds cheesy but it's true). It was made possible by donations via Kickstarter, which I think is really cool too. I can't wait to get my hands on this and read it to my daughter... it's actually for me but don't tell her that!!

Monday Moments : With Love

It's Columbus Day so my four year old has the day off from preschool, it's also cold and rainy outside... so today I'm really looking forward to snuggling under some blankets and watching a movie!
Happy Monday, everyone!

Font Friday: Kenotaph

Just purchased: Kenotaph

I got a thing for slab serifs but I find it difficult to find a tall slab serif that doesn't look dated, like from the 80's. Maybe that's just me? I think this has a great vintage look but is still modern. Anyway, I saw this lovely and had to buy it... oh, and hello... for only $8 how could anyone pass this up?!
Here's what MyFonts says about it:
This willowy wonder is based on Morris Fuller Benton’s Stymie Obelisk, one in a series of typefaces he designed for American Type Founders in the 1930s. An obvious choice when real estate is at a premium, its classic forms will add just the right amount of punch to any headline it graces. Both versions include complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1524 character sets, with localization for Moldovan, Romanian and Turkish.
You can find it right here.

And here is something that totally made my day! I received a lovely thank you e-mail from James T. Edmondson, the creator of Duke (a really awesome font I posted about a while back). This guy has got some skills wouldn't you agree?! But seriously it is I who should be thanking him for doing such awesome work... keep it up!!
