Musical Monday #3

Loving this song by Kimbra! Makes me just want to get up and dance! You might remember Kimbra from Gotye's "Someone That I Used To Know"... I featured Walk Off The Earth's version for Musical Monday #1.

Have a fantastic week, everyone!

Statigram Saturday #1

I thought it would be fun to start a new weekend feature called Statigram Saturdays. I'm sure most of you are familiar with Instagram, right? I'm totally obsessed... like even more than Pinterest. I use Statigram because it is a great way to track and manage your Instagram account on your desktop... very helpful. By the way if you want to follow me, my username is paperdahlia. So without further ado, this was my week in a nutshell :

Font Friday: Veneer

Yellow Design Studio has done it again! The creators of Anodyne have released a new font called Veneer and it is every bit as awesome as their last one. It comes in 3 styles with two variations for each (regular + italic), and two variations on the free ornaments font. That's 8 fonts AND it's on sale right now for just $9!! That's practically free... Get it right HERE.

Art Work: Amy Friend

I recently came across the work of artist/photographer Amy Friend via The Jealous Curator and was instantly smitten. There is such a dreamy quality to these images. I am a huge fan of found images so I was even more delighted to discover she used vintage found images. The series is called Daré alla Lucé... The following is her statement:
Through small deliberate interventions, I altered these vintage images, allowing light to pass through them. (After all, photographs are made possible with light.) In a literal and somewhat playful manner, I aimed to give the photographs back to the light, hence the title of the series, Daré alla Lucé, an Italian phrase used to describe the moment of birth.

Font Friday: Frontage

Frontage made the rounds at Pinterest this week... perhaps you saw it? Well, hopefully not! Either way this is the one typeface that really caught my eye this week (Hey, that's what Super Swoon is all about). Frontage is a really awesome layered font... the sky's the limit! Here is what YouWorkForThem had to say about it:
Frontage is a charming layered type system with endless design possibilities using different combinations of fonts and colors. Achieve a realistic 3D effect by adding the shadow font or just use the capital letters of the regular and bold cut for stark artwork. The typeface's design is based on a simple grid which creates the friendly, handcrafted look of facade signs. It is generously spaced for maximum impact of your message. As a display typeface Frontage loves color and is suitable for headlines and logotypes. Details include 224 characters in five styles and manually edited kerning.
It's also on sale right now... $41 for the complete family! Available right HERE.

Recent Work: All Set website

I'm excited to share with you a recent project that I've been working on for the past few months! I worked closely with All Set owner Heather Ferrai on a redesign of her website. We started with an existing logo and color palette and made an easy-to-navigate (and lovely-to-look-at) website that better reflects the fun but sophisticated personality of her company. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out and I know Heather is too...

I take on a limited number of web-design projects each year... if you are interested please inquire about my schedule and pricing.

Monday Moments : Live In The Present

I adore all the whimsical / irreverent / profound quotations by Sarah Tolzmann from Note To Self! Be sure to stop by her site and say Hi!... Have a great week, everyone!

Font Friday: HoneyBee

I love Laura Worthington's work! She never seems to disappoint and HoneyBee is no exception. I love the hand drawn look. It has a ton of alternates and some sweet ornaments too. I could totally see using this for names on birth announcements and wedding invitations. You can get it right HERE.
