Font Friday: Julieta

Recent purchase: Julieta

I just bought Julieta and I adore it... Look at those swashes and endings, and the ornaments are pretty fancy too. I'm also a sucker for a good unicase typeface. And right now Julieta is 50% off!! I bought two styles and the ornaments so I got an additional 10% quantity discount! Such a great deal... Julieta is available at

Heartwork - An Art Benefit For Target House

I'm loving Heartwork - An Art Benefit For Target House! It's a fabulous way to get some amazing artwork and help a good cause. From the Heartwork website:
Heartwork is a project designed to raise money for art supplies within the art room at Target House—this wonderful home-away-from-home for the families of children facing long-term treatment at St. Jude® Children's Research Hospital.

The whole idea started simply enough. We, along with a few other creative individuals, were asked to work on various design projects for the St. Jude Target House. But, in the process, we were so deeply moved by the experience that we didn't want it to end. We witnessed firsthand the special connection the kids had with the art room in particular. It was a place where we saw kids at all stages of health just being kids.

So, we began to wonder, "What if we could create a ongoing way to support more and better art supplies for these children?" It was then that Heartwork was born.
The idea is simple. Every year, a group of talented artists will create a series of 11" x 14" giclee prints to raise money for the art room. Each of the prints will feature an interpretation of a specified theme. This year we chose the word 'HOPE'. Each edition is limited to only 10 pieces and signed/numbered by the artist.
I purchased the Julia Rothman print... SO excited! Hurry on over and get yours (only 10 prints per artist)! Here are a few of my favorites - you can see more at the Heartwork website...

Yummy recipe: Southwestern Shredded Chicken Salad  (recipe below)

 2 cups shredded chicken
1 orange bell pepper, diced
1 can black beans, rinsed
1 can sweet yellow corn (or 1 cup frozen corn, thawed)
2 tomatoes, seeded and diced
4 green onions, sliced
1 head ice berg lettuce, washed and chopped
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
2 ripe avocados, cubed
1 cup crushed tortilla chips

 6 oz. Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon lime juice
1 tbsp ranch seasoning
1 tbsp taco seasoning
In a large bowl, combine all salad ingredients together, excluding the tortilla chips.
In a small bowl stir all dressing ingredients together. Pour dressing over salad, starting with about half of the dressing. Toss to combine, then gradually add more dressing until it is dressed to your liking. Top with tortilla chips.

Font Friday: Bergamot

Emily Lime does it again with Bergamot! I adore this typeface! This is perfect for larger text areas such as names on a wedding invitation. The cute ornaments, which are FREE right now, and the frames are just too perfect! And if that weren't fabulous enough you can get the entire font family (regular, bold, italic, ornaments, and frames) for only $20 until June 17th! Amazing.

Check it out... It's available at

Font Friday: Thinaire

Thinaire is not a new typeface but one that I have long admired... And it's on 1/2 OFF right now ($12.50)! Man, I'm such a sucker for these thin hand-drawn typefaces!!

I love what YouWorkForThem  has to say about it:
Tape hiss nearly obscures the tender chords and barely-whispered voice, singing a shy song that has the coffee house in tears. Yes, indeed, it's YWFT Thinaire, the dreamy nerd that has all the librarians fluttering at the reference desk. Now they're leaping to their feet in applause for its triumphant and sturdy nature--who's shushing now? Yet another masterful handset-to-OpenType conversion by the artful type dodgers at PintassilgoPrints, YWFT Thinaire is so packed with magical Contextual Alternates, you could hire it as a copywriter. We're talking 335 Glyphs of indie-squiggle heroism, with about 90 OpenType extras. Playful, yet poignant; folk with a little tronic, tender with a smidge of skatepunk, YWFT Thinaire is the movie star who still lives at home, and the rock star who still has his paper route. Oh, he's such a nice young man.
Haha! Love the illustrations too... Anyway, you can find it HERE.
